TinyUmbrella Update to Support iOS 7.1.2 SHSH Blob Files

By | July 2, 2014

Today on Twitter, jailbreak developer @notcom advised that tomorrow he intends releasing a new version of TinyUmbrealla to support iOS 7.1.2 SHSH blobs saving. All jailbreakers realize just how important SHSH blob files are, allowing you to downgrade iOS firmware to an older version in order to acquire a smoother system or more useable jailbreak. Apple has stopped signing the 7.1.2 firmware, and this means that you can now downgrade your device to iOS 7.1.2 when running iOS 8.

Because we can’t predict when an iOS 8 jailbreak will be released in the future, jailbreakers should back up and store SHSH Blobs in advance.

TinyUmbrealla is not the only tool available for saving SHSH: there’s another tool known as iFaith, which was developed by @iH8snOw and it’s available on the previous iOS. Cydia also has the ability to automatically store your device’s SHSH blobs, and @Saurik will soon release a Cydia update for iOS 7.1.2.
